Our gorgeous team is made up of 21 wonderful children from Reception year and Year 1. Our classroom is full of excitement, creativity and buckets of love!
Children in Kestrel class are curious and eager little learners who thrive in having the world at their feet. We give things a go, we laugh at ourselves and we ask questions about every last little bit of it! Above all, we are working together to be the very best little humans that we can possibly be.
Every day we have a mixture of adult led and child initiated activities, which have all been provided to allow the children to extend their individual learning.
We are so proud of our beautiful indoor and outdoor environments. Some of the areas we love to explore include:
Our Construction area - where we make amazing structures, investigate shapes, measures and balance
Our role play area - where we can take on all sorts of different roles, setting our imaginations free
Our craft area - where we can build, paint, create, and make all sorts of exciting creations, developing our individual ideas as well as learning from our friends
Our writing area - we love developing our mark making skills through making books, drawing, sending letters, writing lists, and making cards
Our maths area - where we can explore number challenges, develop counting skills and investigate measures and shapes
We also love spending time in our outdoor area, riding bikes, creating structures, playing music, learning with sand and water, developing mark making skills and role play - to name a few.
Important Bits and Bobs to help it all feel easy
We enjoy spending time in our Forest School every Thursday.
Monday is our main PE day.
To allow us to get messy and jump in muddy puddles whenevr we like, please keep a puddle suit and wellies in school all of the time!
The childen should bring their reading folders in every day so that we can read whenever we want to read! We will collect them in on a Thursday and they will have new books sent home on a Friday. New Oxford Owl reading books will be set on a Monday.
Please make sure that your children has a water bottle in school every day.
