Week Commencing June 22nd

Date: 22nd Jun 2020 @ 8:46am

Good Morning

I hope you are all well and enjoyed the sunshine at the weekend? As mentioned last week, this week's home learning will be a little different as we prepare for welcoming more children back into school next week. Instead, there will be a selection of activity suggestions for the week. In addition, please also look back over previous weeks for any activites you may not have managed to do, or enjoyed, and want to have another try at.

In addiion to the Oxford Owls mentioned previously, there are also ebooks on the following website

https://connect.collins.co.uk/school/Portal.aspx

login parents@harpercollins.co.uk  Parents20!

then click ‘Teacher Portal’ collins big cat – you will need to use 'pause' to allow your child to read as the text is read aloud.

Have a go at this House of dance link- Using the KS1 dance routines.

Try some word games - for example word association - taking it in turns to say a word you associate - cat, fur, soft etc. Or opposites eg hot, cold, wet dry etc or think of words to describe an item in your house or garden.

Try the Sock Olympics  - see link on the school website for some family fun.

Continue to practice your sounds and tricky words, using also the games on phonic play.

Continue to enjoy your books and stories at home - make sure you include lots of discussion about the main events, settings, characters etc

Money – can you find lots of coins around your home and explore them – which ones are the same / different? Can you find the numbers on the coins? How many pennies are the same as 1 of the other coins? Can you add up different numbers of pennies? Can you exchange pennies for other coins? Can you find the total of 2 coins?

Can you play shops  - how could you pay for the different items? Can you use pennies? What other ways can you find your totals?

White Rose maths - week 9 of home learning.

Have a look at the attached file of activities that can be done without a screen!

Have a lovely week. If your child is returning this week, more information will follow with regard to what to expect and ways to support them at home.
